FALL FRENZIE |
(Who Needs March Madness?) |
Fall has really
fallen here, and brought with it lots of chaos and fun. The kids couldn't
wait for the leaves to fall from the tree, so climbed the tree and shook the
branches to hurry them up. It rained leaves as a result. After raking them
into a pile, they burried themselves and jumped all over the piles. We experienced
the last soccer game and each of the girls' teams actually looked like a team
by the last games. The following week was the piano recitals for Lizzy and
Sarah - they did a great job and looked beautiful (no bias on my part, of
course). The crowning event of 'Fall Frenzie' was Thanksgiving. We had 29
here for dinner. Unfortunatey, it rained so the kids had lots of energy to
contain in the house. After dinner, each family made their gingerbread houses.
It started out seriously. Then, there was an earthquake, 9 on the ricter scale,
caused when Isaac pounded on the roof of their house. They did their best
to repair the damage, but it needed a government bail-out and the government
was closed for the holiday. Usually the completed gingerbread houses go to
the homes to the various families, but they started eating them since the
bail-out wasn't forth-coming. It must have been the sugar-high, but it looked
like FEMA really bungled the job when candies were stuck all over faces with
icing, etc. Click on any of the pictures below to see a larger version.
