Colorado Trip |

Maya's Birthday
|
We had a wonderful trip
to Colorado to visit Jenn, Chris, Maya and Lexi. We went to celebrate Maya's
birthday - yes, she is a teenager now. We also planned to attend her band
concert, but she was unable to participate because her partner was sick. So,
we got a private concert back at the house. One benefit to that was that Emma
and Lexi got a private saxophone lesson back at home. Oh yes, Emma went along
with us since her Mom let her miss preschool. While there, we took the Cog
Railroad to the top of Pike's Peak. The scenery was beautiful and the temperature
was cold. It starts at Manitou Springs and climbs 7,500 feet in elevation
to Pike's Peak at 14,115 feet elevation, over an 8 mile railway. On the way
to Colorado we stayed the night at the Glenwood Springs Resort where we camped
last summer. No, we didn't camp. We wanted to check out the cabins in hopes
of staying in one of the cabins this next summer. Oh, if you click on the
link on the large version of the river bank picture, you can see the same
river bank with the kids playing in the mud last summer. No mud this time!
