CHRISTMAS BREAK 2008 |
| we had a wonderful Christmas this year, enjoying the family and the season. Both of our daughters and their families were here with us, making it joyous for us; a little chaotic, but joyous! When we returned home from Colorado (see Colorado page), we brought Maya and Lexi with us. Jenn and Chris joined us for a few days surrounding Christmas. The cousins had a great time together for a week of break from school. Let's see . . . We went to the movies, Jumpin' Jacks, hair styling, rock climbing, sleep-overs, and just plain playing around the house. Oh yes, the kids put on a production of "The Grinch That Stole Christmas". We must not forget the snow!! It snowed here the day and night we returned from Colorado. There were snowmen in almost every yard - some had 2 or 3. It wasn't much of a treat for Maya and Lexi; but Lizzy, Sarah, Emma and Isaac had a blast. School was even out for one of the days. They made snowmen in their oun yard and in the yards of both grandparents. We also went to the wrapping of the gifts for Coins for Kids. We couldn't believe all of the donated gifts and the large turn-out for the wrapping. We also went to our ward Christmas party. On Christmas Eve, we ate a soup potluck at Mary's, followed by caroling the neighborhood in the rain. We all got soaked, but had lots of fun. Sorry, just a couple of pictures because the camera was getting too wet. It was hard to get the kids to sleep that night, but finally crashed with threats that Santa would pass them by if they were awake. Unbelievably, we got to sleep until 7:00 AM before we were awakened for 'the opening'. Santa was good to us all. That night, Mary put the girl's hair in curlers and they camped out in a tent in our living room. The next day we took a trip to the petro glyphs. It was cold and lots of snow still on the ground.
